Haifa-based air quality monitoring company BreezoMeter announced today that it has closed a $30 million Series C funding round led by Fortisimo. The new funding raises its total funding so far to $45 million. BreezoMeter has developed technology to predict environmental risks associated with air quality, such as pollution, pollen, fires and their impact on human health. Through its technology, BreezoMeter makes this information accessible to billions of people, and interacts with many end user devices. The round was led by Israeli private equity investment fund Fortissimo Capital, and Entrée Capital, which has supported BreezoMeter since its founding. Other current investors such as JumpSpeed Ventures, Launchpad Digital Health, AxessVentures, Goldacre Ventures and idinvest Partners also participated in the round. The company says the funding will support it as it expands the development of monitoring, forecasting and warning systems for environmental risks. BreezoMeter says it continues to develop products that turn real-time environmental data into actionable insights, so that individuals can make informed decisions about when to go out, how best to protect themselves, which routes to travel, and where best to stay. BreezoMeter collects data from many sources – including more than 47,000 sensors worldwide, meteorological and satellite data that track weather events, fires, and sandstorms, as well as live traffic information. It detects 17 types of pollen and 34 different pollutants, allowing it to predict air pollution up to 96 hours and allergens three days in advance. BreezoMeter uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to collect this information in real time and present it to consumers with street-level accuracy (within 5 metres) in more than 100 countries. According to the World Health Organization, more than 91% of the world’s population lives in areas where air pollution exceeds established guidelines, and approximately 8.9 million annual deaths are attributed to air pollution. “Demand for our environmental information has only increased since then,” said BreezoMeter CEORan Korber. “The pandemic has put the spotlight on respiratory health and now, hundreds of millions of people use the information BreezoMeter provides every day.” Negative for respiratory health. . We use this data to provide real-time recommendations so that people can avoid these risks. With this new round of funding, we have more resources to improve and scale our three-part model: data infrastructure, technology, and delivery to consumers through connected devices and experiences. We also develop new products that give people more control over their health.
