This quick and easy “fried” Oreo made with protein pie mix and Oreo Thins is the perfect light treat for when you’re craving something sweet!

Aureus “fried”
I’m not a fan of Oreos, but I love fried Oreo – the kind they sell at street fairs. There is nothing healthy about them, but they are so good! I tried making a lighter version at home using the Protein Pie and Oreo Thins mix. For more chocolate desserts, try Fudge Flourless Brownie Crinkle Cookies And the Dark chocolate peanut butter.
I tested this aureus in an air fryer, but it was a mess. So, I understand why you don’t make it on a skillet like you do when making pancakes … they came out great! This healthy fried Oreo is the best little treat when you’re craving something sweet.
What are the ingredients for fried oreo?
The ingredients for making “fried” oreo are straightforward. You will need the following:
- Pie mix: I used Birch Benders Protein Pancake Mix for some extra nutrition, but you can use any “just add water” pancake mix.
- WaterAdd six tablespoons of water to the pancake mixture.
- Vanilla extractVanilla extract is great for adding a little sweetness.
- AureusI have used Oreo Thins because they are lighter than the original Oreos. One Thin contains 35 calories and 5.25 grams of carbs compared to the 53 calories and 8.3 grams of carbs for the original Oreo.
- Confectioner sugarsSprinkle confectioners’ sugar (also known as powdered sugar) on the final product, which will make it look very beautiful and taste sweeter.
