Bath with Epsom salt and hydrogen peroxide for sore muscles

Bath with Epsom salt and hydrogen peroxide for sore muscles

A few months ago I started boxing and sometimes I feel so bad (in a good way) that I started researching how to soothe my muscle pain. Low and here’s a trick to share.

Calming muscle pain is all about Epsom salts … or so I thought. But what I am going to share with you is a stimulant detoxifying bath.

It relieves all pain and is known to stop inflammation as well. I got an Epsom salt and hydrogen peroxide bath recipe from this site.

Bath with Epsom salt and hydrogen peroxide for sore muscles

What you will need:

4-6 cups of Epsom salts (I like Dr. Teal )

♡ 32-64 oz. From Hydrogen peroxide (3% which is found in most grocery stores)

2-4 tablespoons of ginger (Grate it, then wrap it in a thin cloth or Tea strainer )

Fill the bathtub with water, then add all the ingredients.

Soak yourself for at least 20 minutes as the benefits will increase the effectiveness.

♡ You can do this for up to 7 consecutive days.

++ Very important: Do not do this if you are pregnant ++

Benefits of an Epsom salt and hydrogen peroxide bath:

♡ Hydrogen peroxide is a simple, non-toxic H2O2 molecule that is useful in oxidizing (breaking down) toxins as well as killing anaerobic microbes. It also detoxifies pesticides and petroleum toxins, and oxidizes minerals. It is produced naturally by macrophages in the body to kill harmful bacteria. Most harmful bacteria are anaerobic and cannot survive in the presence of oxygen or hydrogen peroxide. Cancer cells are often very sensitive to oxygen and cannot survive in oxygen-rich environments.

♡ Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) help stabilize hydrogen peroxide so that its final dissociation into water and free oxygen becomes more gradual and beneficial to the body. Recent research shows that when you are soaked in a bath of magnesium sulfate, both magnesium and sulfate significantly increase in the blood and urine. The Epsom Salt Board reports the following about the benefits of magnesium in Epsom salt baths:

♡ “Magnesium, a major component of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate), is the second most abundant element in human cells and the fourth most important positively charged ion in the body. Magnesium also helps regulate the activity of more than 325 enzymes and plays a vital role in regulating many body functions, From controlling muscles and electrical impulses to producing energy and eliminating harmful toxins.

Other benefits may include:

♡ Improves heart health and blood circulation, which in turn reduces arrhythmias and blood clots, prevents arteriosclerosis and lowers blood pressure

♡ Improve the body’s ability to use insulin, thus reducing the incidence or severity of diabetes

Flush out toxins and heavy metals from cells, relieve muscle pain, and help the body get rid of harmful substances

Improving nerve function by regulating electrolytes. Calcium is the main conductor of electrical current in the body, and magnesium is necessary to maintain proper calcium levels in the blood.

Relieve stress. Excess adrenaline and stress are believed to drain magnesium, a natural stress reliever, from the body. Magnesium is necessary for the body to bind to adequate amounts of serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical in the brain that creates a feeling of comfort and relaxation.

♡ Finally, ginger opens the pores of the skin and increases blood flow to the surface of the skin so that the oxygen from hydrogen peroxide can do its job of removing toxins, killing bacteria and fungi. The pores expand so that magnesium sulfate can be absorbed more easily. Ginger is a stimulant and can stimulate sweating to get rid of toxins.

important point:

Dry brush before showering. This removes dry, dead skin and feels good. Seriously, it’s an addiction. It will help your skin to better absorb all the benefits of this bath, plus all the gentle skin products that you use afterward.

This is a good way to unwind after a long day, especially if you’ve had a stressful experience – or an intense exercise.

TA-DA! This is the hippie hack if you’re in pain or just want to spice up your shower situation.

Like I said, I got the recipe and all the info from this siteSo head over to if you want more information.

And before we go, if you want to get really psychic you can do it but in an ice bath. You should do this in the morning because you will bounce off the walls with energy. Just run a cold bath, add ice, the recipe above. is over.
