Jared Butler was the star of the Bears team that produced five double-digit goalscorers. Produce 17 points on 6 of 9 shots (4 of 5 from 3-point range), four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Davion Mitchell was also excellent, taking a double with 12 points and 11 assists. Maceio Tej (11 points), Jonathan Chamua Chathawa (11 points) and Matthew Mayer (12 points) scored in double figures, the latter two were on the bench, and the best player in Houston was Marcus Sasser, who scored the highest level in the match with 20 points. 7 of 14 shots (5 of 9 on 3 attempts), with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Quentin Grimes overcame the goalless first half to score 13 points in his likely final match with the team. No other player has scored more than six points for the Cougars. In fact, Sasser scored all but one of Houston’s goals in the first half, all but three of his points, and Baylor definitely appeared to be part of the number one seed.
