It only took 15 minutes to make and it was amazing! It’s vegan-friendly so it’s great to bring to the food! It’s also very versatile! Enjoy choosing the colorful and fresh fruits and vegetables you love to add! Sometimes I replace olives with dried tomatoes and I love it that way too!

We love even taking it for a walk! It’s such a treatment! All of the great vegetables packed inside add a lot of texture, flavor, and color to your pasta. The spicy Italian sauce topped with this pasta is very good. It’s the perfect finishing touch to this pasta salad. It’s easy to make at home and it’s incredible! I use it on a lot of salads, not just this! Trust me when I say this California Spaghetti Salad is going to be a hit wherever I go!

Best California Spaghetti Salad Ingredients

  • spaghetti: Use thin linguine and divide it into 1 inch pieces to make it easier to eat.
  • Cherry tomatoes: Cut it in half to make it larger.
  • zucchini: Make sure to cut everything into the same size as possible.
  • Cucumber: Cucumber gives this salad the fresh taste I love.
  • Pepper: I used red and green but substitute the yellow pepper if you prefer. Make this recipe your own!
  • Red onion: If you don’t like biting into a raw onion, soak it in the marinade first to reduce its strong flavor.
  • Olives: Olives are very salty and delicious!

Salad dressing ingredients

  • Italian Salad Dressing: Use whatever Italian dressing you like because you will fine-tune it with all the other condiments to create your own version of this basic dressing.
  • Parmesan cheese: Grated and mixed with sauce to cover every portion of the salad with a wonderful nutty flavor.
  • Sesame seeds: Add a rich, nutty flavor to the sauce.
  • Red pepper: It adds amazing color to this sauce.
  • Celery seed: These tiny seeds contain all of the strong flavors of celery – earthy, green, and slightly bitter – that balance this sauce.
  • Garlic powder: The extra garlic powder helps keep the flavor strong even when refrigerated.

Tips for making the perfect California pasta salad

  • Vegetables: Get creative with this versatile dish and substitute vegetables. For example, try favorites like broccoli or yellow and orange peppers.
  • spaghetti: Use other pasta shapes. Some of my favorites like rotini or farfalle will work great!
  • Pasta cooling:This pasta salad works best fresh from the fridge. So, keep it cool right before serving.
  • Bring it to the fore: This is a great beauty recipe! It’s better the next day, so I usually bring it the day before and store it in the fridge overnight. This really gives all the flavors time to combine and infuse the pasta!
  • Pasta type: After the salad dries, dip the noodles into an ice bath (equal amounts of water and ice in a large bowl) to shock them. After that, the pasta will not absorb much of the sauce and become gummy.
