China’s economic growth slows to 7.9%, amid recovery from COVID-19 pandemic

The world’s second-largest economy “made a stable recovery in the first half of the year,” National Bureau of Statistics spokeswoman Liu Aihua said at a press briefing. “However, we must be aware that the epidemic is still spreading globally and that the international landscape is complex with a great deal of uncertainty and instability.”
