Congo volcano: Mount Nyiragongo volcano erupted, causing people to flee Goma

Late on Saturday evening, government spokesman Patrick Moyaya said the Goma evacuation plan had been activated, with the Associated Press reporting that thousands had already fled, often on foot. Noises from people and honking horns can be heard in videos of the red-glowing eruption posted on social media, and Rwandan officials said more than 3,500 Congolese have sought refuge across the border in nearby Rwanda.
