At 10 years old, Toby seriously talks about basketball, movies and all things pre-teen, but seven-year-old Anton is still in that middle school where he looks very adult but a kid at heart. Here are some funny things he spoiled lately …
Anton is obsessed with his father, so he is interested in cologne. He’s just not sure how to use it, so every evening, after brushing his teeth and turning into pajamas, he’ll be softly dipping himself in a super musky cologne. Sandalwood smells strongly from reading bedtime stories.
Anton borrowed Alex’s phone and started nonchalantly texting me from the other room. “Hey man,” my phone is ringing. “Are you free to make a call? Call me when you get a second.”
We often play Deadly animals in Australia bingoAnd we recently started betting on him. We’ll usually bet on a dollar, which makes it feel fun and exciting. Last night, Anton tried to raise the stakes:
Anton: “Want to bet on bingo?”
me for sure.”
Anton: How about 50 dollars?
I am: “…”
Anton: “Can you locate me? Because I don’t have any money.”
I heard him say to a friend on the playground, “The only rule in my house is: There are no laws. ”
At bedtime, Anton gets super cute. That night, he whispered, “I love you so much. I’ll remember you forever.”
And most of all: even though he’s acting like a teen, when you hold him to the side, you’ll see that piece of hair !!!!! That little bit of hair sticking out in the back is literally the most beautiful thing ever and my heart hurts whenever I see it. Hope it doesn’t untangle it.
