I made this one Waffle Crab Cakes A few years ago and I thought I’d try switching it up with salmon. Plus, I wanted to try them out on a device Mini Dash Waffle Maker (Affiliate link). I made four small salmon cakes, but you can enlarge them if you have a larger waffle iron. I love how they get more crunch with all that surface area. Healthy salmon cakes are an excellent way to get omega-3s, which can reduce your risk of heart disease. It is also rich in protein and low in carbohydrates. If you want to make salmon cakes gluten-free, use gluten-free panko.

How to make salmon cakes from scratch?

These salmon cakes aren’t called “easy” for nothing! Simply mix the seven ingredients in a bowl, and put a quarter cup of the mixture on waffle iron Affiliate link, And cook for three to four minutes. Like I said – easy!

How to serve salmon cakes

There are a few different ways to serve salmon waffles:

  • Over vegetables or spinach with lemon juice or remolide as a sauce
  • As a sandwich on a potato bun
  • As a main dish with vegetables on the side

If you want to add chutney, these are delicious salmon patties with a simple remoulade sauce. To prepare it, mix light mayonnaise, lemon juice and capers and serve over salmon.

  • 1 6 oz Can wild salmon
  • 1 Big an egg
  • 3 Large spoons Seasoned PankoAnd the Or gluten-free
  • 1 Tablespoon Franks Hot Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Light mayonnaise
  • 1 small spoon Dijon Mustard
  • 2 Large spoons Chopped green onions
  • Olive oil spray
  • Lemon wedgesAnd the To serve
  • Combine salmon, eggs, panko, hot sauce, mayonnaise, mustard and green onions in a medium bowl and mix.

  • Heat up the mini waffle maker (I love My Dash) and spray it with oil.

  • Place a quarter cup at a time and press down until the light turns off, or the edges become brown and brittle – 3 to 4 minutes.

  • Serve on a layer of vegetables and squeeze lemon on top.

  • If desired, make remolide and spray it on top. Also great on potato cakes!

  • Optional Remolide Sauce: Mix together light mayonnaise, lemon juice, and capers and serve with salmon cakes.
