The Israeli defense electronics company, Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) today it has awarded two new deals with a combined value of US $ 128 million. Iron Fist is a lightweight system that uses optical sensors, tracking radars, launchers, and counter-threat munitions at a safe distance, with little residue penetration. COAPS is a standard 2-axis stabilized sight that facilitates calculation of fire control and long-range target acquisition both day and night, in both stationary and moving situations. The second contract, valued at $ 46 million, is to supply VBTP 6X6 Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) to the army of a country in Asia and the Pacific. The contract will be executed over a period of three years. As the prime contractor, Elbit Systems will supply a VBTP 6X6 wheeled APC that has been developed by Iveco Defense Vehicles in cooperation with the Brazilian Army. VBTP 6X6 APCs will be equipped with Elbit Systems towers and a range of subsystems for the company including electrical drive and stabilization systems, fire control systems, TORCH-X battle management systems, E-LynX-specific radio systems, artillery and commander systems like as well as life support systems. “We are delighted with the opportunity to collaborate with BAE Systems Hägglunds and support the important modernization program of the RNLA,” said Yehuda Vered, General Manager of Elbit Systems Land.
