Goats are one of the newest mobs in Minecraft, added in the new Caves & Cliffs update. It is a neutral mob that can be found in mountain biomes. They perform high jumps and, in a later update, will be a source of milk and goat horns. Many players may be wondering what the goats can do in update 1.17 and what updates may come in the next update 1.18 Caves & Cliffs Part II. Listed below is everything players need to know about goats in both Minecraft 1.17 and 1.18! Mountain Goats in Minecraft Where do you spawn? (via PCGamesN) Goats will spawn in groups of two to three on rooftop mountains and need a lighting level of 7 or higher. While most goats spawn as adults, there is a 5% chance the goats will breed as a baby. When a goat is bleaching, there is a 2% chance that it is a goat screaming. Screaming goats sound identical to all other goats, the only difference is that they make screeching sounds and hit mobs and players quite often. (Via Studiocgames) When goats hit a hard Minecraft block, the goats will drop a goat horn. In Bedrock version, horns can be dropped twice per goat, and when slaughtering an adult goat, it drops 1-3 experience points. If the goats are bred successfully, they will lose 1-7 experience points. Killing baby goats doesn’t produce anything or experience, so how do goats behave? (via TheGamer) Goats in Minecraft can jump up to 10 blocks in the air. They usually only jump when trying to cross an obstacle. Goats take 5 hearts less damage and avoid walking in powdery snow. Once they jump, they can’t jump again for 30-60 seconds, within 30-300 seconds, if the goat sees a mob (along with the other goats and shoulders) or the player that has not moved, the goats will hit the player from above 16 km away block (although they don’t if the player is playing peacefully). Goats need at least 4 blocks of empty space between them and a potential target for the ram. Adult goats deal nine blocks of knockouts, while young goats deal four and a half blocks. Other mobs that got kicked out of the goats won’t attack him again. Can you milk goats? In Minecraft, goats can be milked using a bucket that produces a milk bucket. Milk buckets are generally used to bake cakes and remove any effect on the condition. How do you raise goats in Minecraft? Goats can be raised using wheat. They will actively pursue the player if they catch the wheat, as long as the player is within 10 blocks of the goat. Like other mobs, the growth time of a young goat can be accelerated by 10% each time it is fed with wheat.
