Expert advice for treating pandemic skin and my mask

Staci is one of San Diego’s most talented medical estheticians.

I became obsessed with it when I was working in a store about 15 years ago. This woman came wearing a hat and her complexion was glowing. I’ve never seen anything like it before.

Little did I know that I later became friends with this woman because Lisa, my mother-in-law (and she) was best friends with her. We ended up spending a lot of vacations with her and every time I see her she’s been brighter.

She takes care of herself like everyone else. She loves hats, driving gloves, SPF, you name it. It’s one of its kind when it comes to skincare and has been doing this for over 15 years. I respect her very much, she is very knowledgeable and she is one of my favorite people in San Diego.

When you go to Staci Skincare, you can expect the latest technology and the best products on the market (it’s also stocked with Woo products!), And all of its expert advice.

Let’s get into it with Staci Christie.

Introduce yourself and your background in leather.

Staci Christie: With 15 years of experience working alongside a great plastic surgeon in the operating room, along with all the pre- and post-operative care of our patients while launching AHA’s & Botox, I definitely have a cutting edge in understanding the skin on a deeper level.

I don’t just look at the skin of your face, I watch you all. Creating a plan from the treatments we do together in my store to a personalized at-home skincare regimen that changes as you do, is truly my passion. Many of my clients have been with me since I started my business in 2001. With over 25 years of experience, along with my continuous research on product and treatment efficacy, I pride myself on giving you the best possible results.

Talk to us about what you have seen since the emergence of the Coronavirus. For me, I suffer from dermatitis and more acne. Do you see this in your practice?

SC: From holding me, to severe depression, to eating and drinking junk food, it has created a disaster for my skin! Masks are only a fraction of the problems I’ve seen. This is a single issue affecting audiences that I like to address.

Skincare isn’t one size fits all, the science behind skin is very individual. The stress caused by Covid disease alone has increased cortisol levels in everyone, which also contributes to many skin and health problems.

Honestly, my experience is that people feel better once I create a safe environment for them to relax and let me do something to help them look and feel better about themselves. It’s great to see their happy reaction as their skin starts to glow again. We as humans need to be touched and to feel cared for. Providing this service and care to others really gives me a lot of happiness.

COVID has thrown many skincare professionals of us into a meltdown. I am very grateful for the trust all my clients have placed in me.

What are some ways to counteract these problems that we all get from masks?

SC: Wearing disposable masks will definitely help not to wear any makeup or SPF (I am obsessed with SPF control) underneath where your mask rests.

Try not to pick up your face … stay away from the magnifying glass !!! Just cleanse your skin with simple serums and don’t use heavy moisturizers. While wearing the mask, we’re just creating fertile ground for bacteria to form with our constant warm breaths. This is why three-tier sheet masks are the best! There are some cute characters out there. (Your eyes shine good).

I’m also a big fan of Light Stim Acne Light (It is sold on my website) It is very effective in fighting acne. Always cleanse your skin as soon as you get home and give your skin some good products.

Talk to us about red light therapy?

SC: I’m obsessed with Light Stim technology. My store has a LED / infrared bed along with an Anti-Wrinkle Pro board which I like for my clients to use after facial treatment with me.

It’s the perfect experience! Light Stim is the only FDA-approved red light device that has scientific evidence of its benefits. Its patented MultiWave technology emits multiple wavelengths (colors) of light (from my own experience) in a positive “life-changing”. It gives complete body health while seriously reducing wrinkles and acne. It is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to increase circulation, reduce inflammation, increase ATP / nitric oxide levels, increase serotonin and dopamine levels, and there is a current study on lowering blood pressure along with aiding PTSD.

Handheld devices for home use are remarkably effective in removing wrinkles and acne. I also have one for the pain. All devices, Pro and The Bed, sold separately website.

What are the top 5 secrets to amazing skin?

SC: Double cleaning morning and evening. If you wear sun protection factor (SPF) or makeup, use either A. Micellar water Or some kind of napkin for pre-cleaning, then double-cleaning. Use bottled water on a cotton swab after cleaning to make sure your skin is clean – (city water is dirty). Your skin must be clean before your products can be effective.

Everyone should use vitamin C. My favorite with most scientific studies is CE Ferulic by SkinCeuticals (Best antioxidant for all skin types).

Always use moisturizer even if you suffer from acne, we just need to find the right moisturizer. If not, you will age faster and your skin will still be at risk.

Daily SPF (rainy or sunny) and a hat if you are outdoors in direct sunlight!

This is the last important. Always treat your skin from the root of your hair to your breasts and the back of your hands. Try to get some type of professional facial treatment at least 5-6 times a year.

In a perfect world … every month!
