“I think I have confidence in dressing up a lot because my parents were both in fashion retail. I grew up about clothes. I went through a phase in my twenties where I wore a lot of black and white and I was really into the 1960s. When I gave birth to my daughter, I ended up doing it.” Ultimately pastel I’m in. “After the birth of my daughter, I thought I would never wear jeans again because I put on a few sizes. But then I found a pair of jeans that had a rib cage. They are my favorite. This is my version of jeans and a T-shirt – I added an antique coat that might have originally been Nana’s nightgown.” (It’s antique reworked; the woman cut the hem, changed buttons, and made a matching scrunchie.) “It’s hard to find vintage in larger sizes. I used to walk in thrift stores and it wasn’t a problem, but now I find cool things and they don’t go off. This dress is a little wedding but I love it. And I wore this basket a lot. People say, oh, you have it. A basket, and I’m a fan, yeah, but it’s really practical! I studied fashion at a university in a really, really small town.My school friends and I were dressed up silly, and I’m talking silly.No locals wore such an outfit, and I used to stand up. I also think confidence comes with age. I only dress, and if people think I look a little weird, I’m not so upset. “

“We took this photo on the beach an hour from our house. Hope it shows just how ridiculous the weather is here – I wear a hat on the beach, and the next day I have bare arms.
