The Canadian Israel group and the American diamond business family Basal, represented by Larry Silverstein’s Silverstein Properties, is developing a plan for the first hotel in Israel for the international hotel chain Four Seasons. The hotel will be located on a 5-acre plot in Jaffa, 350 meters from the sea at the northern corner of Eilat Street. The local planning and building committee in Tel Aviv this week approved the plan, which includes three 35-45-storey towers including apartments and business districts as well as the Four Seasons hotel. The plan must now be approved by the Tel Aviv District Planning and Building Committee. Related materials The land on which the three towers will be built belongs to Tel Aviv – the Jaffa municipality, the Israel Land Authority, and several private landowners including Israel and Canada. Currently there are several businesses on site as well as dilapidated and makeshift buildings. The plan was drawn up by Israeli architects Moore Yaski Sivan (MYS) and Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects in Connecticut. The 39-storey tower is a residential building, and the 45-storey, 35-storey towers will house the hotel and apartments. The project will connect the American colony of Jaffa with the planned neighborhood of Mansheya in the future.
