From a morning workout to a midday dip to bedtime preparation

Gina Cady (above) is one of our basic guinea pigs. She’s the goop beauty and wellness co-buyer, so many of the products we carry go through her home and inbox. The first thing people usually notice about Jenna is a blessing to her. What keeps her calm and radiant? Unfortunately, a cold dip in the ocean may occur.

First, sleep

Love the avocado eco mission. A vegan mattress made of organic latex and organic cotton, no toxic fire retardants are used. They are top quality and very comfortable. Investing in your sleep makes sense to me because it is such a big part of our lives and our well-being. I’m a very early sleeper person, I wake up early, and enjoy my relaxing time when I crawl into a comfy bed.

In the morning before work, I study Pilates or Barry online. I love Bala bangles for more intensity and weight for movements. I’ve been doing a lot of Pilates on a repair machine – a Pilates machine with wheels and springs – and I’ve been playing on it and teaching myself some of the traditional Pilates moves. I’ve been a long time yoga person, but I find Pilates gives me more balance and alignment, as well as strength and toning. When I’m not on the device, I do Melissa Wood Matt Workout With the bracelets on my ankles or my wrists.

When I want an extra strength workout, I use the Bala Ring to do some more creative exercises. It’s an impressive wheel-shaped weight that weighs ten pounds and is made of silicone-coated stainless steel. It is soft and easy to grip and transfer from hand to hand. I do twists for an oblique exercise. You can hold it while you lunges. And the Pala has workout videos Using ring and bracelets. I haven’t used the ring while I’m dancing yet, but that sounds fun.

I take my supplements in the morning with breakfast. I’ve been taking probiotics for years to help with some stomach upsets. The seeds are different from the other products I have eaten in that they also contain a biological substance. Prebiotics are present in the outer capsule, and probiotics are protected in the inner capsule. I also like that it is a higher dose and has more probiotic strains. I’ve been using Seed for a month, and I’ve noticed a difference in my digestion since I started. *

I have been taking vitamin D not only because of the winter but because it is good for the immune system. I am outdoors and usually spend a lot of time in the sun – camping, hiking and running. But I’m not out as much as I would like to be these days, so I don’t get as much sunlight, which you need to make your own Vitamin D, and I think the supplement is a good addition to my diet and lifestyle right now. *

I like doing cold dives. I live in Encinitas, San Diego, and my house is close to the beach. On lunch breaks, I sometimes walk to the beach and jump into the ocean. The water was very cold this winter, but very refreshing. It relaxes me and changes my attitude.

My neck is tight because I’m in the office all day, so sometimes during the day, even during a meeting when I’m just listening, I’m going to massage a little vagus nerve oil into my neck. Relaxing those muscles instantly relaxes. And I love the idea that this is for de-stressing and caring for the parasympathetic nervous system and the vagus nerve. I think the combination of aromatherapy and movement is what makes me slow down and breathe. The oil smells really good, some kind of soil. Contains bergamot, juniper berries, chamomile, and lavender in the base of jojoba seed oil.

The pillow and pillow therapy rug has a collection of small bumps for the acupressure treatment, but it’s surprisingly comfortable. I try to meditate as often as I can, usually before bed, and sometimes before work. I feel like I’m getting two-for-one when I meditate on an acupressure mat. Using a rug – the size of your back – forces me to sit or lie on the floor, and I feel more firm as if my muscles are being encouraged to relax during meditation. I usually lie on the rug, but sometimes I walk on it to massage and stimulate my feet. I got my dad for Christmas, and he’s obsessed with him. He will sit or lie to her while watching TV.

I have just started using the Oura Ring, which tracks activity and sleep quality. It is easy to use. And he made me responsible. Last night, the reminder to reach my prenatal state gave me the motivation I needed to meditate. I’m strict about not looking at a screen thirty minutes to an hour before bed. I notice a big difference in my sleep if I look at the screen before bed. I am more anxious. And I feel that alcohol and stress are affecting my sleep. I want to use the Oura ring to help me track how screen time and other habits are affecting my quality of sleep, my time in deep sleep, and REM sleep. This will help me discover and stick to my best routine.
