How to make a ground turkey fryer

A healthy turkey fryer cooks very quickly. First brown the turkey and season with salt and cumin. After about five minutes, push the meat to one side, add the onion and tomato paste, and let it cook for a minute.

Next, add the black beans, corn, tomatoes, jalapenos, corn, and 1/2 cup water. Then add the zucchini, the rest of the salt and cumin. Cover the skillet and simmer for four to five minutes.

How to prepare meals

This easy turkey skillet dinner is perfect for meal prep. Leftovers reheat well and should keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Just store in individual containers and microwave until heated.

Differences:

  • Replace the ground turkey with ground chicken or sirloin.
  • Replace the zucchini with yellow squash.
  • Use canned diced tomatoes if you don’t have fresh or branched cherry tomatoes.
  • To make this low-carb skillet, ditch the black beans and corn and replace them with spinach and red pepper.
  • To make this skillet spicy, keep the ribs and seeds in the jalapenos. You can also put hot sauce on top before eating.
  • Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Serve with avocado.
  • If you want to increase the volume of this meal, serve it with brown rice or quinoa. For a low-carb option, use cauliflower rice or pumpkin spaghetti.
