Making your own fruit rolls is as simple as blending the fruit! There are a few simple tricks that if you follow them, your fruit rolls will be thick, peelable, and delicious!

My kids love, love, and love with fruit snacks, fruit rolls ……. anything fruity and sweet. They sit and eat 5 cans of fruit snacks – no problem! I just don’t feel good about them eating all that sugar! But I feel good about eating the fruit in another way! My 5-year-old has problems with texture, especially with fruit, so it can sometimes be difficult for her to eat a piece of fruit. But she will eat any blended fruit.
How to make fruit rolls without a dryer
Step 1: The first step is blending the fruit. To make one pan, you will need about 5 cups of the fruit. It can be any type of fruit! We tried it with many different types, and they were all delicious. Blend until very smooth.

Step 2: This next step is only necessary if your children have problems with texture, and fruit with small seeds (strawberry, raspberry, etc.) Pour the mixture into a fine mesh strainer, and stir until it has passed through.

Step 3: This next step is the most important! Pour the fruit mixture on a baking tray. Using a silicone mat will give you the best success. You can also try using wax paper, freezing paper, or parchment paper, but none of these will give you the same quality as using a silicone mat.
The key is to spread them very thick and even. Edging is always done faster, and can get thin and brittle, so distribute the mixture more over the edges. The more you can get your mixture, the better. Leave a thickness of at least 1/4 inch in all places.

The fourth step: Once it’s smooth and thick all over, you can place it in the preheated oven at 200 degrees Fahrenheit, and it will bake for 4-6 hours depending on how hot it is and how hot your oven cooks.

Once it’s dry and not thick and sticky in the middle, it’s ready. This usually takes between 4 and 6 hours depending on how thick the mash is. You can then peel it and cut it into strips.

We wrapped our paper in the freezer and secured a nice ribbon around it. This is great fun for sending your kids lunches, letting them eat after school, or even at activities and sports!
