It’s so easy to make a Foil Cheesy Sausage & Pepper Bucket on the grill if you’re camping, vacationing, or just looking for an easy dinner with an easier cleanup!

Hot dog with cheese and pepper packet
We love sausage and peppers at my house, and these chip packs really up the flavor level with marinara and cheese. I used arrabiata sauce for a spicy kick, which I highly recommend, but regular marinara works just as well if you prefer milder food. Tommy gave these packets with two thumbs! Container dinners are super easy for cooking or camping. We’ve partnered with Reynolds Wrap to make these foil packs with Reynolds Wrap® Non-stick Chips. The non-stick foil is ideal for cooking cheesy or sticky food because it doesn’t stick, and it makes cleanup a breeze so you get more time with the family. They recently updated the packaging (look for yellow in the grocery store for not sticking) and added an easy-to-open and close tab so the box stays completely closed in the drawer.
To make this easy dinner, I put onions and peppers in foil packets with some marinara sauce and let them cook on the grill until they’re tender. When cooked, add sausage to grill and cook, then chop and add to aluminum foil packets with onions and peppers. Add the cheese to the open bags and let it melt for a few minutes. It comes out saucy, cheesy and absolutely delicious!
How do I know which side of the non-stick foil to use?
The non-stick side has a dull or flat finish. To help identify the non-stick side, Reynolds Wrap® Non-Stick Foil is printed with “NON-STICK Side” so be sure to use that side for this recipe or whatever cheesy and sticky you’re making.
How to make a bag of chips
- Tear off an 18-inch sheet of tin foil.
- With the foil side facing up, center the food on the tin.
- Highlight the long sides of the foil so that the ends meet above the food.
- Fold the ends twice, leaving room for the heat to travel inward.
- Fold the two short ends twice to seal the package.
- Bake or grill as directed.
- NB: Be careful when handling the packaging as it will be extremely hot. Please use gloves or tongs to insert the packages from the grill onto a plate or tray.
What do you serve with sausage and pepper?
You can eat the packets of Italian sausage chips on their own or serve them with some crispy bread and Power. They’d also be great served on a hoji sandwich to make.
Differences:
- Replace Italian chicken sausage with turkey sausage. Or keep it hot and use hot sausage if you’d like.
- Use any colored pepper you like or mix it up for a more colorful dish.
- If you don’t have a grill, bake the peppers and onions in a tin bag in the oven at 400 degrees and then grill the sausages.
