Are your skinny jeans finished? And what denim styles should we keep on our radar?
This is a style question that I’ve had a lot lately. The thing about denim is that finding the perfect pair is And therefore Personal. What works for you may not be the best choice for your best friend. I found it best not to get caught up in the trend cycle. (However, I’ve also been watching the skinny jeans controversy on social media.) Instead, think about the styles that fit your figure best: You’re probably tall, athletic, and you’ve been on a wide-leg train since forever. Or maybe the slimmer silhouettes are the most flattering for your little frame. How convenient or relaxing you want to go is entirely up to you.
And there are ways to test the situation without feeling the urge to do everything (more on that later). My advice is to do it in a way that makes you feel more comfortable, while always maintaining your style.
FALL ’21 DENIM-STREET-STYLE REPORT
When I think of denim fashion, my mind immediately goes to Celine. Fall 2021’s styles are graceful and effortless and this casual French girl has it on. If is yours The mind immediately goes to “I can never pull this stuff off,” hear me out: Pair it with a fancier thing on top, loose crops and dull, tight-fitting washers really feel high.

I am constantly impressed by the innovation we see around sustainability in denim. AG’s collection of 100 percent biodegradable jeans is made from organic cotton and hemp, finished with vegan stitching and buttons made from palm tree seeds (so adorable). Even the posters are screen-printed with soy ink.
First things first: Hem at the anklebone. It’s a length that will please most people, especially if you are not blessed with large inches. Also, ask your tailor for an original hem if you want to add the stitched hem again after cutting the length. If you are anatomically gifted with your hips (and butt!), Measure your waist and take your waist so your jeans are comfortable in all the right places and fit perfectly through the hips. When in doubt: the cuff! The larger the cuff, the prettier the jeans will be, in my opinion.
