WatchGuard Radar is the fifth generation of motion detection tactical Ground Surveillance Radar (GSR), which uses electronic stare search and guidance technologies. With a high refresh rate, the radar enables a very high possibility of target detection and tracking to support complex missions. The combination of staring and scanning allows to adapt and optimize the operation of the radar for any scenario. The new radar system BARÜ (Ground Reconnaissance and Area Surveillance) is intended to replace and provide a unified alternative to the old obsolete systems: PARA (Tank Reconnaissance Radar), ABRA (Artillery Observation Radar), LEGAR 1 (Light Battlefield Reconnaissance Radar), BOR-A 550 ( Ground Surveillance Radar Unit 550), in the Bundeswehr. BARÜ aims to provide comprehensive information, upon request, to all levels of command to identify potential threat and operational conditions as well as conditions in potential crisis areas. The system has all-weather capabilities, day and night, and is capable of long-term continuous reconnaissance and surveillance of large areas while occupying a small area of u200bu200bthe force. Furthermore, it enables Force Shared Tactical Fire Support (STF), as well as providing target tracking for pre-selected enemy forces and contributing to shooting correction and impact intelligence. IAI-ELTA Land Systems Division, VP & GM Zvi Yarom said, “IAI is a leading developer of continuous radar technology offering a diverse range of products with sales worldwide. Over the years, our customers have given us real-time operational feedback and combat expertise that has been incorporated into all our products We are proud to collaborate with ESG to deliver our advanced solutions to the German Land Forces Published by Globes, Israel business news – en.globes.co.il – June 17, 2021 © Copyright Globes Publisher Itonut (1983) Ltd. 2021
