Micro-mobility company Lime is installing an artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning feature on its electric scooters app in Tel Aviv, which will supervise the parking of scooters without cleats. In some areas of Tel Aviv and nearby Ramat Gan, parking for e-scooters is limited to clearly marked locations and the feature will determine if the scooter is parked in accordance with city regulations. This feature will enable the app to immediately determine if the e-scooter is not legally parked, warn the passenger, and suggest the nearest legal alternative. The feature will also charge the passenger an automatic fine, if the scooter remains parked illegally. Related Articles The feature will go live next week in Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan. Although Israel is the first market where Lime will experience this feature, the plan is to expand the parking feature worldwide with Paris chosen as the new global location because unlike many cities, the French capital also has local regulations around the venue Allowed to leave the e-scooter.
