Mercedes Martinez gave wrestling fans a preview of her upcoming Triple Threat match for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day, asking everyone to “expect brutality.” The WWE NXT Superstar is one of the co-names on Triple Threat this weekend, along with Tony Storm and NXT Women’s Reigning Champion Io Shirai. Mercedes Martinez recently sat down for an interview with Solo Wrestling, as she laid out her plans for the upcoming event. Here’s what Mercedes Martinez said: “What we can expect from the match is brutal. Lots of physical strength, aggression. I am one of those strong wrestlers, I have seen my work. I am not rubbish in the ring. I didn’t take hits. And you can mix that with a high plane like Io, the Sky Genius for some reason, anything can happen. And then you have Tony (Storm) who has a great variety in the ring. With what style she can get into. It’s one of those matches where you don’t know what you’re going to get from you. You will see flying high, you will see brutality, you will see things militant, you will see aggression. Three patterns roll into one. Expecting the unexpected is the best way I can put it in this match. ” Highlights of Mercedes Martinez on her WWE Journey, Mercedes Martinez also highlighted the fact that her first major match at the NXT pay-per-view event also happened to be for the NXT Women’s Championship. “This match, in my career at this point, is a huge, huge, pivotal point, I think you can say. It’s my first TakeOver. I’m coming for the title. Not many people can say that in their careers, they’ll be in this match.” Big and Big on their first pay per view. So he’s very, very humble. I’m very happy with the opportunity. But I worked hard for it, I already did. “NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day is broadcast live on Sunday, February 14th, on WWE Network.
