Polls show new hope is waning and the far right is stabilizing

The New Hope party led by Gideon Sa’ar, as well as the Joint Arab List, are retreating in the wake of the split from the list, according to the first opinion polls after last Thursday’s completion of the party lists for the Knesset elections on March 23. The opinion polls were published on Friday on Channel 12 and Channel 13. The far-right alliance between the religious Zionist party led by Bezalel Smotrich and Otzma Yehudit, led by Itamar Ben Gvir, has settled above the minimum vote on the average of the last five opinion polls. In the Channel 13 poll, Likud is expected to win 30 seats in the Knesset, Wish Atid 17, New Hope to only 13, right to 11 seats, Labor to 7, as well as the Arab Joint List. Shas in 7 seats, United Torah Judaism 6 seats, Yisrael Beiteinu 5 seats, the Religious Zionist Alliance and Otzma Yehudit with 5 seats, and Blue and White, Meretz and Raam in the back with 4 seats each. In the Channel 12 poll, Likud won 29 seats, Yesh Atid 17, New Hope 14, Right 11, the 9th Arab Center, Shas 8, United Torah Judaism 7, Yisrael Beiteinu 7, Labor 6, and Meretz, blue and white. The religious Zionist Otzma Yehudit has 4 seats each. In this poll, a public list is considered below the minimum vote. As in many recent elections, the drama is fundamentally at the bottom: Which parties exceed the minimum voting and fall below which will largely determine whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be able to form a new coalition or not after the election. The average of the last five opinion polls show that anti-Netanyahu opponents are vying for 58 seats without a right, but the chances of the parties that make up this bloc sitting together in government appear to be less than zero. On the other hand, the pro-Netanyahu bloc, although more cohesive, is still very far from being able to form a coalition without oath, which means that right-wing leader Naftali Bennett may find himself at the end of March in the role of potential savior to the prime minister. The average results of the five most recent opinion polls were as follows: Likud – 30 Yesh Atid – 17 New Hope – 14 Right – 11 Arab Joint List – 10 Shas – 8 United Torah Judaism – 7 Yisrael Beiteinu – 7 Labor – 6 Meretz – 5 Religious Zionist – Otzma Yehudit – 4 results, not a total of 120, the number of Knesset seats, due to the average calculation.
