Packed with intense flavor (so delicious!), Chicken Rosemary Ranch is one of the best ways to cook or grill chicken. very easy! very good!

Don’t let grilling season pass without making delicious rosemary chicken ranch. It is incredibly delicious!

The seasoning is very simple, and the chicken can be grilled whole or cut into small pieces and kebabs like a grilled rock star.

Salt water rosemary ranch

It may seem a little unconventional to throw ranch dressing into the chicken marinade, but it not only provides great flavor, but it also helps tenderize the chicken for super juiciness. I used both ol’ Hidden Valley’s regular for this marinade as well as my Trader Joe’s farmhouse “fancier”. Both work well (with no noticeable differences in flavor).

salty water:

  • olive oil
  • ranch sauce
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • fresh rosemary
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • a little bit of black pepper

Fresh rosemary to win

Even if you’ve already dried your rosemary in your spice cabinet, I highly encourage (I dare say: I beg) you to get your hands on fresh rosemary for this recipe.

There is nothing that can duplicate the delicious aromatic taste of fresh rosemary. Don’t overpower other flavors; It enhances the seasoning in a delightful way that dried rosemary can’t.

This is amazing rosemary bread Turn me into the magic of fresh rosemary. This bread, and now this chicken, are the only reasons I grow it in my very humble and pathetic vegetable garden.

To the grill…or the oven

The chicken can be marinated in the form of chicken breasts (or thighs), or the chicken can be cut into cubes for kebabs and seasoned in this way.

I am lazy. Hence the no-kebab approach.

After the chicken has settled in the marinade (the more the better), it can be put on the grill. or in the oven for cooking. The recipe instructions below include roasting directions.

But it can easily be grilled for a few minutes per side…and I bet it would be great to cook it in a skillet With salty water. For a saucy little variation.

One taste of chicken rosemary ranch and you may never want to go back to any other chicken recipe again. This is good.

The flavors of this chicken are intensely delicious but still overwhelming enough that throwing cooked, shredded chicken into any variety of salad (green or pasta) or any other recipe that calls for cooked chicken is a great idea.

It’s a great summer meal for this reason. Serve it with any variety of fun side dishes and get ready to make bold announcements like “Best Meal Ever” and “Never Eat Chicken Other”.

Rosemary Chicken Ranch

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup ranch salad dressing (see note)
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 big spoons Fresh lemon juice or red wine vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Finely chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1 small spoon salt
  • ¼ small spoon black pepper
  • 1 ½ 2 pounds of chicken breast (see note)
  • For the marinade, whisk together all ingredients except chicken until well combined.

  • Place the chicken in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the chicken, turning the chicken until evenly covered. Cover the dish and put it in the refrigerator for 8-12 hours.

  • Grill the chicken over medium-high heat, about 3-4 minutes per side (exact time depends on the thickness of the chicken) until completely cooked through and an instant-read thermometer registers 165 degrees Fahrenheit in the thickest part of the chicken. Place the chicken in the tent with aluminum foil and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Ranch sauce: I used both Hidden Valley and Trader Joe’s ranch dressing in this recipe, and they both work great (with no noticeable difference in flavor).
chicken: 1 1/2 to 2 pounds of chicken will be about 5-6 thin chicken breasts. I prefer to use thin slices of chicken breast (if the chicken breasts I’m using are too thick, I cut them in half lengthwise for thinner cutlets). You can cut the chicken into cubes before marinating it and then put it on the kabobs after marinating and grilling in this way.
Rosemary: Adding dried rosemary will affect the flavor of the chicken (we highly recommend using fresh rosemary for better flavour).
