Why should your kids pack their own lunches
As many of you know, my kids have been making their own lunches since first grade. I learned the lesson with my oldest son that they should refill their food as soon as he replaces a full lunch I made for him with one candy! (I think it was one candy corn!) Hahaha..at that moment I decided to let them decide what they would put in their lunches, with some guidelines so they could figure out what a balanced lunch looked like. When kids have more control over what they eat, they are more likely to eat it!
A balanced lunch should contain grains, protein, vegetables and fruits. I’ve created a chart that will help guide your kids in preparing a well-balanced lunch on their own!
