Today I want to share with you a little secret that changed my life.
This secret my friends is a foot spa. But wait, wait. Let me give you details of how this foot spa can change your life.
The foot spa is basically my office.
What I do is call to book an appointment on a casual Tuesday (sometimes I use a fake name because it’s fun – LOL), I block 60-90 minutes in Calendar Then go relax and work.
Sidenote: If you’re in Aspen, do it yourself and check out A1 Foot Spa. There is nothing better than downhill skiing and then descending and having the perfect foot massage. Trust me. Everyone goes to this place so make sure you get a reservation in advance.
What can you do in a foot spa:
♡ Return texts to family and friends
♡ Answer Instagram comments
Respond to work emails
♡ Have an Insagram post or story ready
♡ Make a to-do list
You guys know that I’m a huge fan of collecting things like texts and emails so this is the perfect way to sit still and get a lot done.
Here’s the key: You need to go to a bodice spa with a hole in the wall. One that looks a little formal, but it isn’t. Nobody’s going to talk to you, you can plug in your phone, get a lot of things done while you enjoy relaxing, deep tissue foot and leg scrub, massage, pedicure – whatever.
It gives me a block of time as I can get a lot of little things done that I can’t get to since Zaza was born.
This is called Passive multitasking. Maybe I faked this, maybe I didn’t but I do it all the time. Passive multitasking is all about doing one thing that uses your mind and energy, while doing something else that is kind of irrational.
Examples of passive multitasking:
Listen to An educational podcast While caring for your nails.
♡ Hop on a work call while you walk.
♡ Respond to emails while you have a blast on Drybar.
♡ Answer direct messages and social media comments while walking on the treadmill (my favorite).
♡ Listen to an audiobook while packing / unpacking.
♡ Call your mom or dad while driving to catch up.
My favorite way to do negative multitasking is by listening to podcasts and learning while I do something mindless like doing laundry, cleaning the house, and walking to get a cup of this kind. I have learned so much about podcasts over the years that I believe everyone is my personal mentor.
Well, back to why the foot spa is the best silly place in the world. You’ll get hundreds of emails answered, hundreds of direct messages answered and a new to-do list created for this week. Now, let’s get into the benefits of a foot spa. Not only is it kinda dark and nobody talks to you, but your feet can rub …
♡ Reduces headaches
♡ Increase sexual drive
Reduce anxiety
Relaxation method for decompression
♡ It can reduce foot swelling
It helps with planar fasciitis (my experience with that Here )
♡ Helps lower blood pressure
Relieves menstrual symptoms
You should know that most people say it is not a good idea to have a massage if you are less than 7 months pregnant. There are pressure points on the foot that can induce labor. During the ninth month, I missed rubbing my feet, so I would go every second.
Most foot spas do neck and back massages as well, but you can’t do this on your phone, so I tend to choose legs and feet only. So I hope you like this little hack at work, go to the foot spa and reap all the benefits. Sure, they might look a little bit formal, but believe me, they’re amazing. You will not believe what you can do.
