Vigliolo helped create about 1,000 new vaccination centers, nearly twice the total Italian centers. He has worked with the Lombardy region, the most populous region of the country, on a new vaccine booking portal, after the initial system in the region continued to break down, which in a few cases led to the emptying of vaccination centers. In March, the general set a goal for Italy to give 500,000 doses a day – something that seemed like a long opportunity at the time, when the nation was administering around 200,000 daily doses.
