You can also add 1/2 cup of sprinkles to the basic cake recipe below for an easy-to-use kid-friendly vegan cake in rainbow colors.

Or stir 1 teaspoon of coconut extract and a handful of grated coconut into the mixture, then frost it with coconut ice for a vegan coconut cake.

How to make a vegan cake

Start gathering all of the ingredients.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, grease an 8-inch skillet or 9 x 13 skillet, and set aside while preparing the batter.

Combine dairy-free milk, vinegar, oil, and pure vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl, and leave this for at least ten minutes.

In a new bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder together. (For a single bowl cake, you can add the dry ingredients to the first bowl if you prefer. Just be sure to do this after leaving the liquid mixture.)

Pour dry until wet and stir until well combined. Excessive muffin mixing can activate the gluten excessively and thus result in harsh or chewable baked goods.

Transfer the mixture to a skillet or prepared pans, and bake on the central shelf of the oven for 30 minutes, or until the cake has risen and a toothpick comes out in the center, mostly clean.

Even if you are not a vegetarian, knowing how to make a cake without eggs is a good idea for several reasons:

  • If you need to make dessert but don’t have any eggs on hand.
  • When baking for a friend, family member with an egg allergy, or someone who monitors cholesterol.
  • For those times when you want to bake a cake and eat tablespoons of cake batter while you are working.

Easy vegan birthday cake recipe

The recipe is adapted from these Vegan chocolate cupcake.

  • 1 1/4 cup Favorite milk
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoon White vinegar or apple juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 Cups White flour, spelled, or oats (To get low in carbs, make this one Keto cake)
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Unrefined sugar if desired
  • The recipe makes two 8 inch cakes, one 9 x 13 cakes, or three 6 inch cakes. To make a vegan bun, start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, whisk the liquid ingredients in a large bowl. Leave it on for at least 10 minutes, then add the remaining ingredients to form a mixture. Placed in baking molds greased with butter. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the cake is fully cooked.
