At 7, Anton was secretly 16, loved making and wearing TikTok videos. Ramen noodle tops. At bedtime, he’ll catch me up in school gossip – who’s a crush, who’s a quick runner, who’s dressed slap bracelet – And ask me how old you must be to go to a concert.

Eleven year old Toby’s inner self is a wonderful middle aged father. He enjoys booking rental cars, finding good Airbnbs, and organizing logistics trips. He loves nothing more than to make a solid plan for the day, and he knows the names of all our neighbors – even more than I do! (I’ll say, “Shoot, what’s Tallulah’s mother’s name?” and he’ll lean over and whisper, “Jennifer.”)
